Description
project
The Palace of Peace and Reconciliation is an iconic pyramid-shaped structure designed by Foster + Partners. Six Fujitec Zexia elevators were installed, including 2 inclined elevators inside the pyramid with a unique diagonal-movement algorithm.
The project required custom engineering of the guide rails and cabins for a 60-degree incline. All elevators feature premium-class finishes.
Technical challenges
The unique inclined shafts required custom solutions for the guide rails, braking system and counterweights accounting for the incline.
Outcome
The elevators have operated successfully since October 2017 and perform up to 200 cycles daily during events.
